Giving our children a new chapter in life

Join us in transforming lives of children through education and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The 'why?'

Sierra Leone faces a daunting challenge in literacy among its children. According to UNESCO, the country's literacy rate for youth (ages 15-24) is approximately 63% (UNESCO Institute for Statistics, 2020). However, this number drops significantly for children under 18, with many struggling to access quality education and basic literacy skills. A World Bank notes that in 2019, only about 62% of children in Sierra Leone were enrolled in primary school, and many of these students lack access to essential learning materials, including textbooks (World Bank, 2020).

The consequences of illiteracy are far-reaching. Children who struggle with literacy are more likely to fall behind in school, drop out, and face limited career opportunities. This, in turn, perpetuates cycles of poverty and hinders national development.

Our vision

is to break the cycle of poverty for children in Sierra Leone (and their future generations) by providing access to practical tools and support they need to thrive developmentally, socially, academically and economically.

The Rose Africa Foundation aims to address this issue by providing access to books, promoting literacy, and providing educational and entrepreneurial initiatives. By doing so, we can empower Sierra Leone's children with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.

Our charity program is tailored to meet the specific needs of Sierra Leone's children. We focus on providing books and other materials, establishing literacy programs, and training teachers to create engaging learning environments. According to the Global Partnership for Education, investing in education can have significant returns, including improved economic growth and reduced poverty (Global Partnership for Education, 2018). By investing in our children's education, we can help break the cycle of poverty and unlock their potential.

is to provide safe and nurturing environments where children can unlock their innate gifts and abilities.

Our Mission

Join us in making a difference

We want to contribute to a Sierra Leone where no child is left behind but is provided with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to flourish. We believe that investing in a child today builds the foundation for prosperous societies tomorrow.

Project one: "A Novel Cause"
Project two: "Packed for Success"
Project three: In development

This initiative brings the joy of reading to children in Sierra Leone by providing access to free books. Every book donated has the power to inspire, educate, and transform a child's life and help us to empower young minds, one page at a time.

This initiative provides much needed schooling material to individual children in need. Every backpack will help level the playing field, ensuring each child has an equal opportunity to thrive and help us to set them up for success.

We are currently working on an exciting initiative which we will share when it is further developed.

We thank our many supporters and donors for your continued support.
